These are Clearwing butterflies, some call them Glasswing. They are of the genus Greta. If this photo was taken in the wild, then I’m guessing it was Central or South America, maybe the Caribbean. If I knew where, I could likely tell you the species. This one is nectaring on some mistflower. 😊

Amazing! According to Wikipedia it’s a Greta Oto, South American up to the lower US.

Yes.. it was in Guatemala..near to the Pacaya Volcano and the butterfly was wonderful!! 🙂
